From Nothing Into Something

Very grateful to be feeling slightly sick as the swell of the Bay of Biscay takes hold. It means we've made it onto the last ferry to leave Spain. Which means we're not trying to find somewhere to stay in a country with all hotels and eating establishments closed. Or trying to go across a closed border back to our home in Portugal. And that we'll soon be with our family, God willing.

Lent verse today is Psalm 139v14, but I've added the context of verses 13-16:

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
    you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
    Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
    I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
    you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
    how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
    all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
    before I’d even lived one day.

We are wondrously made, every one of us, and I find great reassurance that He who so made us has our lives, every day of them, in his capable hands.

Gratefuls:
- a cabin with a window to the front of the ship, how special!
- my body, which has just got rid of the orange I had earlier - and made me feel better as a result
- family and friends caring about us

Thanking you all for all your comments on yesterday's Blip, sorry, but need to lie down now...
