Still

Not a great quality picture, but here are two downies and a purple finch. The feeders were bustling with activity for much of the day. Then in the late afternoon I looked out to see these three birds holding completely still. They stayed that way for a couple minutes, which seemed odd. I couldn't see any sign of a hawk, and they didn't seem panicked...just sheltering in place and waiting to see what would happen next. I'm starting to see metaphors everywhere!
