The best nest

I have a number of jackdaws that live in the chimneys behind my house. They're here all year but they're nest building at the moment. These chimneys in front of the church must be the best site as there's a waterproof roof and a front and back door. Brigadier_Blip has reminded me of the underfloor heating too.

I think that this must be Mrs. Jackdaw sorting out the furnishings while he keeps an eye out for his neighbours (they do a lot of very loud squabbling at this time of year).

The photo's a bit dark as it's been a miserable grey and rainy day. Weather doesn't stop nest building though, the blackbirds have been gathering twigs too.
