All the Cool Kids Are Doing It

Social Distancing. It works.

Our outdoor farmers' market was open at its usual time this afternoon, with a few modifications to make it safer. For example, big loose bins of apples were pre-measured into two pound bags to prevent people from handling the fruit. Six foot distances were measured off in chalk to remind folks to keep clear of others when waiting their turn at a booth. There were lots of protective gloves on vendors and patrons alike. But good fresh food was available, farmers were glad to be able to sell, and customers were happy to have an alternative to a crowded supermarket.

Life continues to be surreal, and we blunder along trying to do the right thing. We'd been anxious about a medical appointment but Mr S spoke to his doctor over the phone rather than going in for a consult. Our son the arborist says tree work is slowing down; he's worried about being able to keep his crew busy. Our LA son is video teaching from home rather than going to the school in person. No one is sick yet.

Day Three.
