twinned with trumpton

And despite not having been in the office for 2 weeks,  (just good fortune, I guess!) today was the first day of WFH. Ironically it should have heralded a run of 5 out of 7 days in (where possible) but hey...

So I'm well versed on WFH already.

After a brisk start, as the e mails with the fine detail started to emerge, the bogging down in detail started.

'Only work contracted hours' one said. But I can't I replied. I do 9 hrs / day but on Thursdays with boys (tomorrow) I cant drop before 0845 0850 and have to collect by 1730; knock off half an hour for lunch and I'm only doing 8hrs 10 min.

' oh that doesn't apply to you, you'll just need to work your 36 hours over the week.'

So that's clear, then. Work your contracted day, or not, depending. Bizarre.

Next up; She went to the office.
It's not closed but her manager's manager said 'come in at your own risk' What about all the call centre ones, She wondered? Are they in at their own risk?
And then She got there to find the manager's manager in! Eh? 'Don't come in but I'm coming in'  Truly sums up some of our management's decision making - they're not fit to lead.

Lunchtime approached and diabetes people suddenly u turned on Monday's advice. Diabetic children ARE at risk and can you remove your child from school, please? The next line of the memo then said Italy and Iran shower that diabetic children were no more at risk than any other child, so...why are we isolating the diabetic kids, then?

Another flurry of calls (video! I had to turn off Cash in the Attic and stick a t shirt on and hide the beer cans)

A lunchtime foray to the supermarket for fruit and tomatoes - chorizo lentil tomato chicken soup is now made.

A fractured afternoon of school pick  up , more work, and then an evening of trying to get to grips with the ever shifting sands.

Nice sunset, mind....
