Backwash - fling 'em high !

The answer to the previous day's question seems to be:  when the sun comes out, the people will go to the beach.
Lots of people on the beach and in the water when I arrived about 8:30AM.  The waves were a little up and there seemed to be a trough or trench about 12 feet out into the water, so that often a rising wave would run sideways or with backwash, the next wave would flare upwards.   Often surfers would get caught in the rise where they can really get tossed around.
A few whale spoutings offshore, but no breeches.
Wednesday guy was out today, too.

COVID-19 News here:
Front page paper headline - CLOSED TO TOURISM      Our governor is asking  visitors to postpone trips here.   Bars and clubs are ordered to close, and restaurants are urged  to do takeout only.   Hawaii cases are now 14.   A few retailers will allow seniors only during their first hour of business on certain days, so on a Tues, Thurs and Sat, seniors only can shop from 5 - 6 AM at Foodland (grocery) stores.  Crazy - 5 AM!!   As long as the stores don't ban seniors from the rest of their open hours.   Let's see how that works out  . . .     Take care everyone!
