Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Work goes on....

Tired out today…always stuff to do when one has been away…and we weren’t expecting to be back this soon from virus free paradise…To look at the positive:  the bed here is bigger and better, the shower is more than a trickle, it’s not cold (we had to turn the heat way down!) there is no wood to chop twice a day and we are still sort of surrounded by water.    Surfacing late, we did take a walk in the neighborhood.  LOTS of people out walking.  As far as I can tell, all the construction industry is business as usual.  This floating home dock is getting all their old rotten wood pilings replaced by more environmentally friendly steel ones (like our dock last year).  There’s a huge (rather noisy) crane out there with this thing that sort of vibrates them down into the lake bottom.  I think they still have to try to sink the rest of them more…
Everything is in bloom.  It’s gorgeous.   The business street was quieter…not a lot of traffic.  I did see a few people on buses…no restaurants or shops are open but many are offering take out meals if you call ahead. We intend to try to support some…not sure how they can last however.  We did make a quick stop in Starbucks for coffee beans  (open but no place for anyone to stay and sit) and bought a couple bagels which the grocery store last night was out of!  and hurried home to wash our hands.

A new 3000 ( I think this was misinformation in tv... it’s more like several 100s. And there are more,  a place for sick and quarantined with no one to take care of them).  bed “hospital” is about to be built on a soccer field in North Seattle to take care of coronavirus patients that don’t need urgent care!!  Reminds me we still are the epicenter here in Washington.  Oh I do hope this is not needed.

It’s wonderful to see all the small kindnesses that people are offering to make life easier…. my photo teacher gurus all have positive offerings…the best I’m going to link here…  Sebastian Michaels ruins this fantastic  Photoartisty course that used to cost hundreds of dollars.,  He just sent out info that people might need creative ways to use some of their enforced free time and is offering this course very cheap.    this is such a good deal I can’t resist mentioning it to some of you photographers who might be interested in such, It’s a wonderfully creative course. by such a creative guy.. It could change your life!.I’d be happy to answer any questions,.,
