An early departure to scoot through to Glasgow to see the son, keeping some distance of course. I was planning to go on Monday but who knows how things will pan out?
Back to nip to the daughters where we arrived at the same time as Carely and her maw. Thirty three years old today, so we all sang Happy Birthday to her in the street, being kept well away.
Then on to her Auntie J who treated us to tea and Tunnock’s Snowballs. She doesn’t approve of women who go back to work after childbirth, as she pointed out, once again. Clearly, I didn’t argue and the SK wisely chipped in that most women would rather not go back to work either. I could have added that as I bloke, I never wanted to go to work in the first place.
Back to walk the grounds before settling for the Last of Us (extra mission!) and later a viewing of Contagion which despite being from 2011 felt very current (social distancing was a term back then??) - it started well, but just fizzled out and some of the plot lines frayed to nothing. Jude Law? What was that? And we have a whole season of similar flicks to look forward to. In real life this killer virus is just far too abstract at the moment. Get the ketchup out!
