My last scatological blip, I promise. I cut the lawn for the first time this year, and it has more moss than ever, despite my efforts to aerate and feed it. An effect of the mild wet winter, I guess.

Mrs P reminded me that the Romans on Hadrian's Wall, having neither toilet rolls or Mediterranean sponges, used moss instead. This generous handful came from a tiny patch of lawn, so I think we have a backup.
