Forestry Project

17th March 2020:

What a difference a year makes.

Last year we got the PMI (Project Managers of Ireland) National Award, for social good in the voluntary sector for planting 2.3 million trees in Malawi.

These are some of those trees, being pruned

These are a coppicing variety of pine. They take about 15 years to mature and when they are cut they regrow, so no clear-felling and waiting. This also helps them if they are affected by small fires (they grow again)

This year we are on track to plant over 4 million of a range of tree varieties including fruit and medicinal

It costs 10 cents to plant a tree, so how about it?
