Burrage Pond loop walk

We had a  lovely local walk this afternoon with an old friend. The collection of ponds and old cranberry bogs are interlaced with wide paths, perfect for social distancing. The sky was so blue, we saw at least 20 swans and a favorite harbinger of spring, pussy willows.

Everyone we passed kept the proper distance and greeted each other with smiles. It's such a strange time, waiting for the other shoe to fall, we know it is going to get scarier. We're home, two peas in a pod with Merry in our little bubble here at Dogcorner, awaiting the unknown along with the rest of the world.

I thought this was an interesting read, written by Scott Kelly, a retired NASA astronaut who spent nearly a year on the International Space Station. His biggest tip from one who couldn't: Go outside.

I had a long phone call from a friend this morning, we taught together for years. We share the exact birthday, she's a few hours older, we were born at very close Boston Hospitals. We discovered it when we had to line up by birthdays years ago at some teacher meeting inservice activity. We haven't seen each other since T and I were married in 2013, but chat now and then on the phone. This was a long and wonderful conversation. The phone is back believe me for connecting along with video conversing, thank goodness. Everyone you know suddenly is someone to worry about, someone to reach out to. Someone to help in any way you can.

For the Record,
This day came in with bright blue skies and cold temperatures. A stormy week is predicted, it was good we could walk today. I hope to paint this week, sharing loft space with T and maybe Merry. I am so thankful for them and the love we share.

All hands very wary.
