Safely home

Decided not to risk public transport for reliability and health reasons so we drove Nina to Heathrow and thankfully she managed to fly back home to Canada without any problem.  She is now in self isolation for a fortnight.

We stopped off at the services on the way back for a rest but had a car picnic instead of going inside.  The car park was deserted which was a good sign of people staying home - apart from loads of lorries of all kinds busy trying to get goods back into the supermarkets.

Heathrow was rather scary - not much social distancing going on there.  So we didn’t hang about, just made sure Nina’s flight was still on before we washed thoroughly and left.  I get that it is hard in airport but people were still cramming themselves into lifts and sitting right next to each other.  I gloved up so as not to touch anything and just tried to stay as far away from people as possible.

Getting Nina back was a big relief - now we are going to bunker down and not go out unless absolutely necessary.  As long as I can get food delivered somehow we may be able to hibernate for a fair while.
