Great Crested Grebe at Bough Beech Reservoir

I investigated a new, reasonably local nature reserve today - Bough Beech Reservoir near Ide Hill. The reserve was shut due to Covid-19, and the reservoir itself off limits in any case, but the road along side gave good views over the water, with ample opportunity for bird watching.

I spotted cormorants, little ringed plover, heron and the inevitable ducks and geese, but was pleased to capture this Great Crested Grebe.  I did see some pairs displaying, but they were too far away for a decent shot.
