Today's Special

It's Official

Jay Inslee, our state's excellent Democratic governor, this evening ordered all Washington residents "to stay at home, except for crucial activities like buying groceries, seeking medical care, or going to work at essential businesses, and except for outdoor activities like walking, biking, and gardening that can be done six feet away from others." (Seattle Times).

"This stay-at-home order goes into effect immediately and will last for a minimum of two weeks..." -- but I expect it will be extended. We've been self-isolating for a week, other than walking to our neighborhood's clustered mailboxes and a couple of longer walks, staying well away from other people.

We're grateful for a home that offers space to be together and space to be apart, and pastimes we love that are home-centered. Reading my Blip friends' journals brings home the impact of this pandemic in a personal way that reading the New York Times, Washington Post, UK and US Guardian, and Seattle Times online daily can never do.

We are all in this together. Let us support each other as we can.
