Lockdown

Another day spent in the garden.  At the end of this emergency there will be no excuse for a single weed to be left in the garden!

Our house is modern but built in the grounds of a now demolished "Edwardian Gentleman's Residence'.  One remnant of the original garden is an old tarmac pathway that forms a figure of eight amongst the trees in the woodland however one of the loops was obstructed by this hawthorn tree that had grown a substantial branch horizontally at low level across the path.  I have spent the past two days removing this obstruction while leaving the tree in place and indeed now a much better shape.  It was one of those jobs that took much longer than I expected as I hadn't really appreciated how big this branch was until I started to saw through it.  It's all cut up now giving me one pile of logs and three piles of smaller twigs and branches.  Next jobs will be to gradually de-moss the path and in places dig down to expose the surface again.
