January 25, 2013...2 Years after the Revolution

I cannot believe, that 2 years ago, I was sat in front of the TV, awaiting news of Mubarak being overthrown in Egypt...A Revolution unfolded in front of our very eyes.....

What has happened in those 2 years? Time has been spent, passing comment, voicing opinions, discovering an inner strength, that has now been shared with the World.

The Egyptian people are passionate, self believing, strong, united and above all, resilient, qualities that attract the World to this magnificent land and it's history.

Seemingly 'Lost' in a 'Vacuum of Voices' the youth, the middle class, the upper class and indeed all, head to the the streets to make themselves heard.

I went to Luxor purposely today, to see exactly what the people felt about these 2 years passing...Had it impacted their lives in a positive or a negative way? Did they feel their voices were being listened to? What, if anything, had changed after the end of a 30 year reign of Mubarak.

A small, but strong group of people, gathered at the foot of the Abu El Hagag Mosque after Friday prayers, to commence a vocal journey...speaking to who ever would listen, but aimed at the President.....

The protest was inoffensive, calm, respectful and above all, for everyone that wanted to be a part of this moment in Egypts' history. The focal point? They were not happy with Mr Morsi. Until now, nothing had improved in their lives, they were feeling unrest, instability and insecurity....What was the future of Egypt?
Unsure of the answers, they went to the Muslim Brotherhood offices to state their unrest.

I walked around Luxor with this protest, felt no animosity, only positivity, welcome, heartfelt unity and equality. I speak for Luxor, as I know the people and the City, as being the most unique place that I have ever experienced. Despite it's uncertainty, these people have one thing that binds them together and it will never be broken..
