An Old Treasure......

We had new people move onto my street yesterday.   The car on the transport dolly was sporting an Oklahoma license plate.   Through the course of the day (walking the girls)  I saw the very large moving truck unloaded.
And then I saw them.....    huge wagon wheel rims!   Only the metal was left.  All of the wood inside the rims had long since rotted off.    These rims were from the Conestoga wagons that the early settlers had gone west in  when the Oklahoma Territory was opened up for settling and free land!   The hubs were still on the spokes!!!!   There were 3 rim....    2 very large ones, about 4 foot in diameter (back wheels) and one that was about 2 foot in diameter, or the front wheel!   These rims were incredible beauties!!!   In terrific condition!    One doesn't see something like these very often, especially  when they aren't in a museum!  I will get another photo of the smaller one, against the tree.
