Isolated

You couldn't get much more isolated than we felt when I took this photo. I think even the forestry people must have stopped working, for there was no sign of the machinery that had gouged up the track to a muddy assault course. We'd taken this route to avoid some free-running dogs who'd far outstripped their people - the trouble with all this not working is that our normally deserted places are becoming populated, so we end up walking on roads (no dogs) or through the mud (no people)...

A stressful day in that this is the day our shopping angel brings us the messages (yes, we're still Scottish). The business of handing over (in the garden), swapping bags for empty ones (laid on the path), unpacking (Dettol wipes in one hand) and discarding outer wrappings - all that seemed to take an age and leave us gasping for coffee.

I managed to start on a slightly creative project, however - putting together some photos to create visuals for a recording of myself singing. I'm having to relearn the process, which has changed a bit in the four years since I last did it. What with that and the frustrations of being locked out of Facebook and Messenger again the day seems to have sped past. Now it's time to change, to cook and to open a bottle of wine.

Is anyone else out there beginning to get used to this odd existence?
