Spinning Around

Last chance this month for star trails - the sky will probably not be cloudless and the moon will become too bright. I knew of a tree in the middle of a local field which would give me a clear North facing backdrop. Fortunately it is only a short walk from my house so I scouted it out during daylight.

The sky remained clear so I went off with chair, tripod and kit, remembering torch and hot drink too. Once I'd worked out the composition (a bit of light painting needed to help with that), I set the Live Composite mode on the Olympus working and watched the magic happen.

This is just over an hour's exposure. I'm pleased with it overall and will try again whenever the opportunity arises.
