Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

End of week one under wartime lockdown from this dammed virus. As it happened, our four egg-laying Wynadotte Bantams have already been evacuated to rural Broadbottom in Tameside to live permanently with a family we met randomly by chance when out walking few weeks back. Not entirely sure all augers well for said chickens, as the family had just lost chickens to a fox the morning we happened upon them in their garden.

Us shifting them is nothing to do with Coronovirus of course, just a solution to the problem we discovered of a small gardens, free range chicken and hungry unwelcome rodents. We are already missing the regular 3-4 eggs per day.

As an alternative solution, I had been all for dispatching the four straight to the freezer, but Mrs B and Jay had other ideas. So, as I fire up the first BBQ of 2020, it is market-bought chicken that is destined for our dinner tonight. The positive for Jay is that the palatial empty chicken coop at the end of the garden is soon to be home to some pet rabbits instead.

How could I say no? Now back living in the next (even before self isolation struck), Jay has only recently turned 28 after all.
