LD 7 - 40 years on...

Well actually tomorrow, but as tomorrow I will be in Edinburgh  to start taking through Holyrood  the Scottish emergency bill on Coronavirus, I thought I would blip this picture,  taken in  Lochmaddy Parish Church on the 31st of March  1980,  one day early.

Tomorrow  is our 40th Wedding Anniversary  - our Ruby Wedding.

It is however a day we will have to  mark without going out  together for anything at all, let alone anything special .

We couldn't have predicted much that has happened to us, but we have done it together and are going through this unpredictable lockdown together too.   Lots more to look forward to as well, I hope.

Some people might recognise my father in the background, who died in 1992 and perhaps there are even one or two people who see this who were actually there - and joined us afterwards at the Lochmaddy Hotel, where my father had to cook  breakfast that morning as the owner had gone bust the week before. Fortunately we managed to get another hotel to do the wedding catering !

We will certainly want to have a delayed party to celebrate once this is  all over and original guests still around will be welcome.   As will many others.
