Wound up in Wexford

Spring cleaning

Whilst the tall step ladder (that's the one I'm on the top step of here) was out, W suggested we clean the windows in the garden room.

So after our exercise session this morning, I cleared all the clutter off the window sill and we set to.  After doing this big window as a co-operative effort W took the step ladder outside to put some more stickers on the window - we get regular bird collisions, despite the stickers on there already.  Unfortunately, he was rained off before finishing the job.  I carried on and cleaned the inside of all the other windows.

We normally have a window cleaner.  He only comes once a month, so it's difficult to know the reason he hasn't been recently is that it isn't yet our turn, or if he's decided not to work during the lockdown.

Towards the end of the afternoon we took delivery of a large cardboard box, containing my new recumbent exercise bike.  We've left it for any potential contamination to degrade overnight, and will unpack it tomorrow.

And then we sat in the garden room with a cup of tea/coffee to watch the garden and in particular the bird feeders, through our lovely clean windows.  We had multitudes of all sorts of tits, lots of greenfinches and goldfinches, and two visits from woodpeckers.  We also had a visit from a pheasant - he turns up regularly every afternoon, with a squawk to announce his arrival, and another as he leaves!
