Redwing Blackbird

I went early to Hughes Hollow and was not the only one who had that idea. There were lots of "birders" there and plenty of birds.  I was especially happy to hear the distinctive call of the redwing blackbirds and managed to get a couple of decent shots.

The big excitement here today was that our grocery order arrived.  Once I locked in the delivery date ten days ago, I was able to add to it until the night before the delivery date.  The order kept growing and growing, but there was no guarantee we would get everything.  The delivery fellow rang our front doorbell and dropped all the bags at the garage door in order to maintain a distance from us.  We left a tip for him in an envelope taped to the front door in order to maintain "contactless delivery.

We took all the bags into the garage with gloves on, sequestered some things in the garage and then took everything else into the kitchen where we had the table set up like a sterile field.  Wearing gloves we removed everything from the bags and wiped each item down and placed it on the "clean" side of the table. The bags were removed and disposed of.  Then we removed our gloves, washed our hands and put everything away, then washed our hands again and finally we gave the table a complete cleaning again. It was exhausting.

Because the virus can live on cardboard and plastic for up to a day or so, we decided this was the prudent thing to do. There is still so much we don't know about the transmission of this virus and the advice keeps changing.  We are playing it as safe as possible.

We got most of the things we ordered but did not get toilet paper (no surprise), honey, yogurt bars, laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent.  We got flour, but no yeast.   I have another delivery date locked in for 9 days from now so I will try again and another delivery date 7 days later.  I am using two different browsers and two different accounts to stay ahead of this, otherwise, we would have to wait 2 weeks or more for a delivery.
