Sunrise on the Tramway

Dawn saw me on the granite tramway near Haytor on Dartmoor. The stone from this quarry was used to build the old London Bridge and many other fine buildings in the capital. It was carted down to Stover canal and to the port of Teignmouth on these wonderful granite rails. What a job!
