Science Lesson

A fun day of school work today.  Some reading stories and making words on a "learn to read" website, a version of "charades" based on using phonics gestures to spell a word to each other, and writing and maths exercises that required the making of cakes!  CyclopsJnr wrote notes on all the steps so he could write instructions later.  The maths concerned measuring the correct quantities of ingredients.  The results (yum!) suggest this was accomplished.

Later we made a kite to a specification from his science teacher, and had a go at flying it.  Pretty exciting stuff - although the wind wasn't quite up to the task today.

Kite ingredients:  1 sheet A4 paper decorated with highlighters, sellotape, a bamboo kebab skewer, 3m string, toilet roll cardboard tube for storing string, and of course a cut up Sainsbury's bag for a tail...
