The Old Forge (Friday 3rd April 2020)

Aerial view of disintegrating camellia flower.

Smokey has been at the centre of my attention this week, with lots of phone calls to and from the vet's, and indeed a couple of visits to them, a few hundred yards away, on Friday, to deliver urine samples for tests and collect antibiotics and special cat food.

I took my camera in the hope of photographing a cat in the back yard. As I surmised, the cat I blipped on Tuesday does live there and is called Talulah, and there is another, a pale ginger tom called Bobby. Unfortunately, neither cat was in evidence and all I got was a pot of hyacinths on the back wall.

The walk back took me through the Town Gardens, and I took a fair few shots there.

I stayed in the Front Yard when I got back and did a spot of gardening, including deadheading the camellia, but I took a few shots of the decaying flowers first, including this blip and the Extra.

I also got a picture of Smokey in the Front Yard. The latest news I have is that he has a mild kidney infection, but that might not be his only problem. Hopefully the dietary food will help.

Thanks to BikerBear for Flower Friday.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Brigitte Fontaine - Le Goudron (1969)
This week's Iggy Pop's show was presented by Kim Gordon, formerly of Sonic Youth. One of her choices was this single by the experimental French singer Brigitte Fontaine. “Time is a boat and the world is a cake” she sings. Fair enough. It marked her first collaboration with the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and led to their LP Comme A La Radio  the following year.
