Who Owns Two Hundred Cook Books?

Today is Sunday, a fact confirmed by looking at my iPhone.

After completing all the shower and shaving nonsense that is the usual start to the day, I woke up Pat and put an ice pack to her back, while I brewed the mandatory coffee and prepared breakfast.

Pat broke her back when she was riding her trail bike many years ago in Puerto Rico. A mud slide pushed her and the bike off the road.

She cannot visit her osteopath for quite a while, and he has recommended ice packs each morning.

We had just finished breakfast, and she was checking her iPads and iPhone, for the overnight messages etc from our friends and relations.

She exclaimed "Who Owns Two Hundred Cook Books?" Apparently, this was to do with a link to some article or other.

My quick response was "You do, actually".

"No, I can’t have that many". (See Extra). We stopped counting when we reached 300.

On top of these, there are card-index boxes amounting to several hundred more recipes and their is also the database of recipes in the two iPads.

She does like to cook, and menu planning for the day is a serious topic of discussion.

I took the main entry today with Pat’s iPhone. It is of our own home grown organic daffodils of which there are a great many varieties.

I had planned to assemble the new lawnmower, and cut the grass.  The bright sunshine was misleading. There was a strong icy cold wind from the North East.

The grass can wait for another day. Besides there is plenty of work to be done around the house, and quite a few box sets to work through.

And of course, Cocktail Hour.

Today, Pat served gin gimlets in teacups in honour of a neighbour who lived near her in San Juan PR.

Every day, the neighbour appeared to have tea on her balcony at 4:00 p.m. One day, she gestured to Pat to join her.

Pat did, although she is not a great fan of tea. Neighbour duly brought an extra cup, and poured this very clear liquid from her teapot over ice, already placed in the cup.

Pat wondered what type of tea could be clear. After the usual cheers, Pat took a careful sip of virtually neat gin...

The neighbour explained. The neighbours in the next balcony are Nuns and I do not like to embarrass them.
