Please Look after this Bear

I’ve noticed this old garage window on numerous occasions when I’ve ran around Derwentwater and today I stopped to have a really good look & find out the real story.

Apparently, this bear was lost by a child 14 years ago & was therefore placed into a plastic bag and pinned to the window- presumably, with the intention of the bear being reunited with the child. Though the idea makes perfect, logical sense, the reunion has never happened (I hope through reasons of mischance rather than misfortune). Suffice it to say (and as the photo explains) this bear has not been left lonesome & the window & surrounding garage walls are now full of postcards which have been sent from all around the world.

There’s so much good cheer & generosity of spirit being distributed at the moment- be it in the form of an entertaining meme, a birthday message for a friend, a poem, a motivational quote and let’s not forget the NHS Thursday clap; it’s absolutely the least we can do but, then again, what else can we do?...

That’s right! We can follow the essential government guidelines on social distancing.

I was incensed earlier, to hear of people gathering in groups to sunbathe in London parks. What? WHAT?!

Come on Britain, now more than ever, let’s spread compassion not self-interest.

(Please?!...)
