Howl Dale Walk

After a morning of painting yet more spindles on our rather intricate Georgian staircase we headed out for a walk. We timed it over lunchtime to try and avoid meeting too many people.

We decided to walk up Howl Dale we think it is getting towards 30 years since we last walked it. It is only on the eastern edge of Pickering so why we have not been back ...who knows?

What a delightful walk. Wood Anemones, Wild Primrose proliferated in the early part of the walk. Plenty of bird life...the extra although shot from long distance shows a Blue Tit and Bullfinch enjoying a bath. It made me smile!

The barn was at the start of the walk. I liked the kisses and classic pan tile roof. Over 9kms walked and back for a late lunch.

Spent some of the afternoon on a trip down memory lane tidying a chest of drawers inherited from a great Aunt and used to store mementos. Unearthed some gems.
