Coopers Lime Kilns

Cooper's Lime Kilns were established in 1932 by Henry Cooper and his sons, and played an integral role in supplying lime to Kalgoorlie's gold mining industry for more than 10 years.
Built during the depression years they provided much needed work to the unemployed migrants of the the time.

These Kilns are just a stones throw away from where we live in Mindarie, this is just one of the two links that were preserved when the land was being subdivided for houses around 20+ years ago, the inns were built specifically to the advantage of the sea breeze that comes in most days, it fan the flames from the fire that heated the Kilns to extract the lime, the fulls troy is a very interesting one, a bit of Australian Heritage listing just down the road.
We changed our route today, a few more people than normal near the beach today so we kept away, the beaches will soon be officially closed as a small number of people start to become a little too complacent, with easter holidays approaching its going to be a trying time for some.
