Fritillaries

In our back garden, a small pot bought from a herb garden in the Peak District many years ago. They come up every year, starting off creamy yellow, and some developing that beautiful snakehead pattern and others just staying cream coloured. They are my personal arbiter of Spring.
A cooking day for me today - a huge pot of veggie chilli con carne and a smaller meat one, and a big pan of ratatouille. Enough to feed us tonight and freeze for another day.
Rachel braved the local supermarket and was successful in getting most things we wanted. It seems things are getting back to a more normal. But still no flour or yeast.
Genny spent the morning in the garden in a strange mixture of bright warm sunshine and cloudy, chilly rainfall. Later he sorted out our kitchen cupboards, noting what we still needed - I had got through 4 cans of tomatoes, 3 cans of red kidney beans and 1 of lentils!
