The Lozarithm Lens

The Old Forge (Tuesday 7th April 2020)

The snake's-head fritillary I blipped last month has been succeeded by another growing close by. They were planted two years ago so my hope is that they will become established. No hope of visiting North Meadow at Cricklade to see them this year.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash - Girl from the North Country (Live on the Johnny Cash Show) (recorded live at the home of the Grand Ol' Opry at the Ryman Auditorium, Nashville TN, 1 May 1969, for ABC-TV, and first broadcast on 7 June 1969)
This week I've been playing through Travelin' Thru in the Dylan Bootleg Series Vol. 15. This includes rehearsals and works in progress for material for John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline and Self Portrait, and includes the time he and Johnny Cash spent together in February 1969. Only their version of Girl From The North Country was officially released at the time, but when the Johnny Cash Show came into being, Bob Dylan was the guest in the first programme of the series. He performed two songs with the band he'd been recording with and then this unaccompanied performance of the two of them, performing the song that was first recorded by Dylan for the Freewheeling album in 1963.
