Looking for the beauty

Day 18 Hope

I worked today. There were 2 teachers, 2 TAs, 1 headteacher and 4 children and one of those was a TA's son. Yes really!!
It was lovely though as it was another beautiful day so I took them outside for an alphabet scavenger hunt. We worked in 2 teams and had to find something for each letter of the alphabet. Fortunately the outside map of the world and the beautiful mural painted on the outside of the demountable by Rory McCann of animals from around the world, helped us to find some of the more difficult letters. The other team won, despite spelling chameleon with a 'k', but the important thing was that the children enjoyed it. I didn't have to spend the whole day with the children so I also managed to get some jobs done in the classroom. In the afternoon we sat on the field and made bird feeders. I forgot to take a picture of them before leaving so my blip is a heart for all the heroes helping out during these difficult times.
Hope
In the news today China reported that they had no deaths today from coronavirus for the first time in months. We can beat this and come through the other side. Boris is still in intensive care but is not on a ventilator. They're now saying that closing schools doesn't really slow the spread of the virus. I'm not sure how they work that out but maybe there's hope that we'll be able to return before the end of the school year so that we can finish teaching the children what they need to know and say a proper goodbye to them.
