Calm before the Shindig...

Did you know that today is Australia Day? The date commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788 and general excuse to party have a good Aussie shindig celebrating all thing Australian.

We headed over to Kilmarnock to get some shin digging in as part of a crossover Burns night/Australia day. We barbecue'd for lunch, we had various Aussie snack-letts, roast lamb, imported Aussie beer, Anzac biscuits, Haggis, shepherds pie, Aussie tunes, all various other Aussie/scottish and loads of company.

A thoroughly enjoyable day.

Mrs TFP (the native Australian in the TFP family) asked me to put up an Australia Day post on her Facebook whilst she drove. I spent half the rest of the journey posting Aussie music to her profile.

Here's a wee taster of Mrs TFP Aussie Day Jukebox as I named it...

John Butler Trio
Ben Lee
Kasey Chambers
Nick Cave and that Minogue woman
AC~DC
Midnight Oil
...and of course the classic...
