Thank You For the Days ..

Social Distancing? Herd Immunity??

Clearly the gimmers of Lanton Hill haven't been keeping up with Government Guidelines.  This morning, just as I was about to sit down to a nice soft boiled egg and toast soldiers, I heard the sound of bleating much closer than it usually is.

There, in the drive garden were about 20 of last year's lambs happily browsing in a corner. I went out and shut the gate to keep them from straying any further. Just as I was sitting down again, I could see through the hedge a stream of wooly bodies bouncing down the road - the rest of the flock had decided to join in. By the time I got outside they were streaming past the gate and heading down to town - apart from a few who stopped for a blether with their chums behind the fence, and some who decided to snack on The Hermit's hedge and the roadside daffs.

Fortunately, at this point a car came up the road driving most of the escapees back uphill, and shortly after that the owner appeared on his quad bike. He shot down to town and captured the vanguard, who were taking in the sights of the High Street, drove them back up the Loaning, and with the help of his dog, Alfie, collected our visitors and headed up the hill, cursing whoever had left the gate open. Such excitement, at 9am on a Saturday morning.

TM was quite pleased. They ate a fair amount of grass (which was due for a cut) and left us some nice organic fertiliser - and they ignored the daffodils and the fritillaries.

And I was pleased to get my blip so early in the day. Thank you Admirer for your hosting of Silly Saturday!

Other than that, it's been another peaceful day.
