Easter flowers

The Pasque flower (pulsatilla) so called because it flowers around Easter time and it is related to the Anemone.  The wild species is now very rare in the UK but it is said it used to grow on places soaked in the blood of Vikings and Romans as it was often found on burial mounds and earthworks up on the chalk.

What a lovely day.  Nearly finished mowing the lawn.  Still a lot to do in the garden.  I feel so sorry for people stuck in flats with no gardens not able to get out easily and do appreciate my situation, although in solitary isolation,  of living in the countryside.

Email from my friends in Norway who live in the forest near the Swedish border - they still have quite a lot of snow!

One more glass of Mozart liqueur tonight.  And I am roasting a small chicken for a treat!
