The Velvet Underground & Nico, 1967

This is another entry in my great album covers series. It's not a bad record, either. The Velvet Underground were promoted by Andy Warhol, who designed the 'banana' sleeve. The extra shot is of the other side, which would also have made a decent front cover. I like the music which was, scratchy, lo-fi and way out of line with anything else from that time. They gave us Lou Reed, they gave us  Nico; who can complain? (OK: and John Cale, Mo Tucker and Sterling Morrison too.)
The main shot is best viewed large for the perverse reason the it comes up smaller. (Don't ask me.)
