Happy Easter

It certainly wasn't a typical Easter, despite however one celebrates it, or not. We went for our Sunday morning hike in the Hoyt Arboretum, where I was mindfully watching a subject for Miranda's Wild Flower Week Challenge. The Bellis perennis or Common Daisy, or even more aptly Lawn Daisy literally covered the grassy areas. Wherever it appears it typically is considered an invasive weed. I'm not sure if the arboretum considers them so, they really are quite beautiful. Yes, I did actually lie down on the grass to take this blip...my husband thought it was so funny that he took a picture of me taking this picture!  You can see what they look like in the extra. I'm sure they're as common all over the world as they are here. 

We headed over the ridge and descended into the canyon on the north side of the garden and as we walked we started noticing easter eggs (see collage in the extras). It was certainly not an organized event by the Arboretum, in fact there were very few people around. Evidently, some family had chosen the Arboretum for their egg hunt. Fortunately there weren't many children around since I think they would have wanted to pick up the eggs...perhaps not the best idea in during these times. But it made us smile and we started seeing them everywhere.

The last photo in the collage was an egg placed carefully on a rock at the corner of our property, which is an intersection of streets. It made us smile - a little act of kindness (hopefully sterilized) during these difficult times.
