Wound up in Wexford

We've had another strenuous day in the garden.  W is creating yet another new bed, around our boulders.  We would like to plant it up with alpines - but are not sure, at the moment, where we can get them from.  We have local nurseries that are offering either delivery or click and collect but neither of them are advertising alpines.  I've emailed the closest, and am awaiting a call back.

We have cleared and sifted several barrow loads of soil from this bed, and also from a pile that has been waiting for this treatment behind the raised beds, and W has spread it onto the lawn to fill the craters left by mole tunnels and other subsidence.

We came indoors about 4.30, to rest up our weary backs after all the exertion.  When I popped out again at about 5.30 to find a blip in the late afternoon sunshine, I found evidence of dramatic goings on over that hour, whilst we sat in the study browsing Facebook and other rubbish - there was a considerable scattering of feathers on the lawn.

It could have been the young cat from next door - I found her under the bamboo, and shooed her home.  If we catch her actually up to mischief, we now have a water pistol purchased specifically for the purpose of discouraging her from sitting under the bird feeders, and we won't hesitate to use it.
