The Daily Round

Now we are sitting around at home a bit more than usual I've noticed that our three deer (I wonder where the 4th one went?) seem to have a daily round. Sometime in the late afternoon they come wandering down out of the trees, head down the field and disappear into the trees between us and the village.  Today they came down our side of the field, only 10 m from the house. The young one here even detoured across the garden, wandering past the elderberry shrub and pausing for a nibble.  Their colouring is perfect for this time of year when the natural palette of vegetation is brown and grey.
We also went for our (nearly) daily walk together with Rose. She had already done here ten thousand steps on an earlier walk in town but took the chance for an extra five thousand with us.
Rose also shared the sourdough hot X buns I baked early this morning (extra), after preparing the dough yesterday.
In the evening we watched Jane Eyre; "A National Theatre co-production with Bristol Old Vic, based on the classic novel by Charlotte Brontë, directed by Sally Cookson and devised by the original company."
What a brilliant way to end a good day!
