Wide Wednesday: Wy'east

Mt. Hood, (called Wy'east by Native Americans), is Oregon's tallest mountain. It is part of the Cascade Range and offers the only year-round skiing in North America. Mt. Hood, along with Mt. St. Helens (Loowit), and Mt. Adams (Pahto) are the three mountains that dominate the Portland, Oregon skyline, depending on which direction one looks. 

The sharp reduction in the pollution around the globe has had positive effects here as well, and the views of the mountains are crisper and the skies bluer.

The view of this mountain is beautiful no matter the day or the season.
