Our New Life

Lockdown Day 21 - The Owl Day

This morning J and I woke up early to watch another live safari, it's becoming part of our daily routine now, but it's also good learning for my studies.
J made us breakfast and coffee in bed, cheese on toast with worcestershire sauce for me...it was yummy!!

So today was a busy day for work and studying until we were interrupted by the sound of a million birds screaming their alarm calls. We went outside to the bottom of the garden where we could see what looked like almost every bird fluttering, diving, squawking and going totally crazy.
I immediately thought there was a snake in the tree until J spotted it.... the Spotted Eagle-Owl. This owl has the perfect owl sound too...listen here.

This evening we watched a live safari but unfortunately it was cut short by 3 minutes due to the weather, a storm was on it's way. J and I sat outside while waiting for our dinner to be ready when we could here that weather moving closer to us. The live safaris are filmed on a reserve that is 219km (136 miles) drive away from us so the climate is very much the same.
