Holz vor der Huette

Literally "Firewood in front of the house", one of the better known Bavarian phrases that has more to do with wearing dirndls that being warm in winter. You may need to Google as I don't want to be banned from Blip for any sexist suggestions.

Started the process of getting ready for winter 2020/21 and then 2021/2. The 1m long, mainly spruce, is what I split last spring. It was very dry even then due to the continuing droughts and indeed was the cause the trees were all from storm damage in 2018/9. This needs to be sawn into 33cm lengths & stacked alongside the house wall to enjoy another summer of drying.

At the same time have lots of fresh wood that is all over the property from 2019/20 as in the wheelbarrow. This can go on the right fence side when their is space but a bit of jiggling needed.

Soon will be getting a few tree trunks out of the forest & on our property including the large tree that took down our electricity line in March  2019.
