What’s the 3rd most popular flower in the world?

It’s the Tulip and they are just coming into bloom in my garden and allotment. Belonging to the lily family, the flowers are generally cup-shaped and very colourful.

Tulips originate in from south-central Asia and through breeding there are and there are now about 4,000 varieties of tulip. People brought the flowers to Europe in the 1500s and later to many different parts of the world. The Netherlands became the center of tulip production in the 1600s. The tulip is the national flower of Iran and Turkey.
