Pilot Medical

Submitted my Pilot Medical Declaration today which was accepted by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority). This means I’ll be legal to fly until November (IF and when it is appropriate to do so) without renewing my medical with an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner).

The CAA requested anyone with a pilot medical expiring before 16th March to submit a self declaration of fitness not suffering any new medical conditions etc (anyone after that date gets automatic dispensation).

This will allow the AMEs to focus on processing the commercial pilot medicals first after the pandemic and focus on other services, as many are GPs, and lessen the burden on the NHS. Great idea!
