Reflected light

Louvered light patterns on the ceiling  -  morning phenomenon.

Morning newspaper headline : HAWAII HARDEST HIT BY UNEMPLOYMENT
A ballpark calculation by USA Today concludes that Hawaii has had the highest rate of unemployment of all states during a four-week period ending April 11.  Hawaii's rate  = 21.7%.

Also :  Distance learning extended for public schools
Schools to continue teaching remotely thru the end of the school year.

Also :  State officials say some precautions likely to remain even after virus wanes
Governor Ige issued a fifth statewide emergency proclamation Friday directing employees of essential businesses and customers to follow stricter social distancing rules, including the use of face masks and hand sanitizers, and maintaining a 6-ft distance at all times.
He also closed all Hawaii beaches and imposed new social distancing requirements for boating and fishing, gathering in state waters and on land, and hiking in the state parks.   Active exercising in the ocean is still permitted.  Under the beach closures, no sitting, standing, lying down, or lounging on beaches and sandbars, but people can still cross beaches to access the ocean for exercise (like surfing, solo paddling and swimming) so long as social distancing of at least 6-ft between people is kept.
However, looking at the Department of Land and Natural Resources website for clarification states . . .   "no transiting" - so . . .?  Confusion reigns.

And, most disturbing of all  :  Longtime local sweet snack is discontinued
Love's Bakery is kissing its iconic powdered-sugar doughnuts goodbye.  Plans for new flavours in mid-May (blueberry and lemon).
Love's has 4.5 weeks of ingredient inventory on hand, but are now hoping to produce Donettes for another two weeks, as the demand has skyrocketed.   Comfort food, I would only buy these when on sale.   Not a good decision, given their timing.

Stay well, stay inside, and take care, everyone.
