Red Oak Leaf....

...dried up & left over from last fall and found on one of our walks. I just propped the leaf up on a window sill in the back porch to take this.
I was really upset to see on the news today a group of about 30 or so people— standing along a busy road by a shopping center in one of the suburbs—protesting the governor’s decision to extend the stay at home orders & business closures for three more weeks. They were all clustered together holding signs.......no masks, no social distancing. These were people who were proudly bragging to the reporter that they’d come from all over the state to protest together. She asked how they’d feel if they contracted the virus from a fellow protestor & now spread it to all the different areas of the state. They said they weren’t sick. She asked if they’d been tested or checked their temperatures......nope. There are no words to describe such stupidity!! I’m not against protesting, but I AM against doing it in a group, without masks, without social distancing, and without brains!! Then, just as I was typing this entry there was a huge bang & all the power went out in the neighborhood. We still don’t know what happened & it’s been off for almost an hour. Hopefully it’ll be back on soon, or else we’ll be having a candlelit dinner. :))
