Driving Rain

What a difference 10 days makes. On the 18th Sydney-siders were all melting in record heatwave conditions. A week and a half later we're drowned, as the remnants of Cyclone (read Hurricane or Typhoon) Oswald hugs the Eastern seaboard and is about to deliver biblical rain to Sydney.

The rain started as a very light drizzle at 7 this morning and has steadily increased all day. It's now "tipping down". Walking outside is like standing under a shower. The intensity is expected to ramp up until about 3 am tomorrow morning, but the big worry now is the wind. If the rain has penetrated the root balls of large trees the predicted 100+ kph winds will have trees down all over Sydney and tens of thousands without power.

Sorry, not much of a blip tonight. Not a fit day out for man nor beast, and despite my best efforts there was almost no viz to do any nice landscapes. So not exactly a light sculpture, but you can at least see how solid the rain is :) Glad I don't have to drive anywhere tonight.
