The Eyes Have It

Here's a good pub trivia question for you:

How many eyes does a Black Prince Cicada have?

Five.

You can see them quite clearly in this close-up of it's head. All cicadas have them (not just Black Princes) -the three smaller ones are called "Ocelli"

No damage to report here in the Hawkesbury after the superstorm that hit the East coast of Australia passed us and headed out into the Tasman. We did have 10 inches of rain over night (which half filled the empty dam on our property) but the 100 kph winds forgot to show up.
