Attention Passengers...

Disengaged, hardened, could care less...yeah...yeah...we know. This scene cracked me up! There is a portion of the F line that runs above aground shortly after leaving Manhattan and making its way toward Brooklyn. This scene is at about 12:30AM. Just as we started to come out of the underground portion and into open air rail everyone pulls out their cell phones to check and see if they've missed any compelling emails, txt messages or facebook updates. Every once in a while a call is made home to alert family we are en route and close by. I usually txt. But only late at night when hubby is home fretting for my safety. Which, is kind of silly since I am a die hard Brooklyn girl and NYC ws recently rated the safest city in America...yup...the safest city in AMerica. Thank you Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Kelly. But -- mobile devices are still fair game in the safest of all cities. As this group is checking mobile updates over the loudspeaker comes the following announcement: Ladies and Gentlemen, the MTA cares about your safety. Please be aware of your surroundings and do not openly display cell phones, electronic equipment or other valuables. Thank you. We want you to be safe -- every day." Well...if any of the above heard, they certainly didn't care. Including the lad whose legs appear on the right hand side. And, apparently, neither did I as I quickly pulled out my iPhone to take this shot!
